This 5-star hotel in one of the city's business districts caters to business and leisure travelers alike. It hosts conferences and events due to its large congress center and meeting rooms, but its 518 rooms are just as often filled with those who simply want to experience Lisbon. In addition to the comfortable bedrooms (some of which have views of the landmark aqueduct), there is an excellent spa and two restaurants.
One of the Avenidas Novas’ most beautiful buildings was completely restored and turned into one of Lisbon’s most beautiful guesthouses. There are double rooms and suites, with a couple of them preserving their original stucco ceilings and frescoes.
Located in one of Lisbon’s busiest squares (Saldanha), this is a hotel like no other in the city. The experience starts as soon as you step inside, with stands allowing you to self-check-in and select the room you prefer. Everything is available 24 hours a day, including the gym, the indoor pool and Turkish bath. The goal is to make guests feel completely at home and independent of staff, and there’s still an area where meals are available throughout the day. Each of the 129 rooms feature a modern décor, and both the lighting and the temperature can be controlled by your smartphone.
A historic building, located close to Marquês de Pombal Square and Avenida da Liberdade, was renovated to become this elegant hotel. It’s made up of 89 rooms featuring a beautiful décor mixing Portuguese traditions (such as panels of blue and white tiles) with contemporary touches. It also offers a meeting room, a restaurant, a library bar, and another bar on the rooftop overlooking the city.
This 4-star hotel faces the landmark Campo Pequeno arena and is just a short metro ride from the old town. It offers 139 modern minimalistically-furnished rooms, dedicated to different European capitals.
This boutique hotel with just 41 rooms and four suites is found on the Avenidas Novas’ main boulevard. It features a modern mostly-white minimalist décor, extending to the exclusive rooftop terrace with swimming pool, where guests have a view over the city.
This 4-star hotel is the result of a renovation of a building from 1906, which preserved much of the façade. The interior is completely modern, divided into 224 rooms with a Lisbon-inspired décor. It offers three meeting rooms, a fitness center, a restaurant, a bar, spa with indoor pool, and also an outdoor pool on the rooftop.
Located around the corner from Saldanha Square, this modern 4-star hotel offers 48 rooms. Due to its location in a business district, it also has a meeting room with a capacity for 50 people.
Both modern and classic, this hotel is in a 17th-century building and in a new extension. It offers 147 elegant rooms, including some large enough to accommodate families. A short walk down the road is the El Corte Inglés department store and the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum.
Almost 400 rooms make up Lisbon's Sheraton, which is one of the city's tallest buildings. It doesn't look all that attractive from outside, but it's actually a luxurious hotel inside. Its rooms have been given a very contemporary look with glass-walled bathrooms, while a fabulous spa has taken over an entire floor. Most popular of all is the bar and restaurant on the top floor, offering panoramic views of the city.
The former RTP (Portuguese public television broadcaster) building reopened in late 2007 as a 5-star hotel. Because it's located in one of the city's main business areas, its guests are mostly business travelers. It’s also located within walking distance of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum and of a metro station. There are 295 contemporary-style rooms, a spa, a seasonal outdoor pool, and a restaurant.
A 19th-century building has been renovated to become this hotel. While the façade kept its classic features, the 86 rooms were given a more contemporary style. There are also five rooms for special events, such as conferences and business meetings.
